Our name refers to the image of Icarus, whose statue embellishes our entrance. Icarus, a hero from the Greek mythology, is locked up in a labyrinth with his father. With the help of feathers and wax, he creates wings to escape from the labyrinth over the sea. But he must be careful: if he flies too low, his wings will get wet, but if he flies too high, his wings will melt in the sun. We are ambitious and forward-looking but stand with both feet on the ground. A happy medium! The practice was founded by Dr. L.C. Peeters, Maxillofacial Surgeon, and was taken over by dentist Paule Peeters in 2007, who has developed the practice into the group Icarus.

DENTIST Paule Peeters SPECIALIST IN PROSTHETIC AND RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY AND IMPLANTOLOGY

Graduated in 1994 as a dentist in Leuven. Afterwards she followed a specialization in prosthetic, restorative dentistry for three years full-time and served as a consultant to the Catholic University of Leuven for several years afterwards. She has participated in many national and international conferences and regularly offers lectures to dentists on the latest developments related to implants and prosthodontics. Since 1999 Paule is also an instructor for the Institute for Osseointegration at the Catholic Univerity of Leuven. She followed the Master's programme for Implantology by Prof. Eric Rompen and graduated in 2008 (Diplome d'étude specialisées européen en implantologie orale). In 2007 she founded the group practice Icarus.

DMD PhD Marco Gresnigt

In January 2012, he was promoted (Phd) on the clinical and laboratory evaluation of adhesive cementation of veneers. He’s currently active in the center for special dental care at the Martini Hospital Groningen where he performs esthetic treatment under microscope. At the University of Groningen he’s the head of the department of restorative dentistry and biomaterials, conducting research about restorative and adhesive dentistry and teaching about esthetic and reconstructive dentistry in the clinic. He has multiple Phd students and publishes in international magazines, (>40 peer reviewed articles) mainly about adhesive restorative dentistry. He’s a national and international speaker who gives courses in the field of esthetic and reconstructive adhesive dentistry. He won multiple awards such as the GC world clinical case award, Smile award, EAED innovation award and different scientific awards. He’s the former president of the international Bio-Emulation group and is a current global ambassador for SlowDentistry.
